Banh Mi Co Ba
Banh Mi Co Ba looks unassuming on the outside and, to be honest, even more unassuming on the inside. But behind its modest glass counter, there’s food that really packs a punch.
People should be queueing out the door for its lunchtime offerings of summer rolls, banh mi, bao buns and broken rice dishes. This is down-to-earth, homely cooking but even a humble sandwich is made with such zing and freshness that it feels like a real treat.
Banh Mi is a classic Vietnamese street food with French colonial influences. It takes pâté and a baguette and adds the crunch of raw and pickled vegetables, the heat of chilli and the fragrant flavours of marinated meat. The char sui pork banh mi is a winner.
There’s also a good plant-based selection with salt and pepper tofu and vegan chicken available in the bao buns and the banh mi.
