Black Milk’s pancake stacks are self-proclaimed as the best in Manchester and Confidential Guides agree they’re certainly up there. The Kinderella is perfect if you still have the sweet tooth of a small child – or if you are a small child.

Head to Caravan Manchester and try the ricotta pancakes with date butter, molasses, cream and optional bacon for a sweet and savoury treat on Pancake Day.

If you’re taking the kids for an after school Pancake Day treat, this is the place to do it. Slightly over the top and sickly, get ready for a sugar rush that lasts till the weekend with the limited edition s’mores hot pocket (basically a folded crepe). Dark chocolate sauce, dark chocolate shavings, giant marshmallows and chocolate fudge cake – and that just half of the toppings and titbits that come with this Shrove Tuesday superstar.

The soufflé pancakes served here are some of the softest and fluffiest we’ve ever encountered.

Fress is known for fluffy pancakes so laden with toppings you might wonder where they got to under all that sauce. Choose from pistachio, Oreo, banana and more.

A dosa is a type of pancake too. Swap traditional batter for one of Indian Tiffin Room’s excellent chilli cheese dosas.

Try a Korean kimchi pancake this Pancake day. It’s got a lot more punch than lemon juice and sugar.
