By Jo Milligan

Published 20 February, 2025

Pancake Day – or Shrove Tuesday – is traditionally the day to have a blow out, using up all the sweet lovely things in one big sugar blast before Lent. This year it falls on Tuesday 4 March 2025.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re giving up something for 40 days or just keeping on keeping on, an excuse for a calorie-fest is always welcome.

Don’t faff about with a frying pan getting flour everywhere –  go out for pancakes. At Confidential Guides, we’ve rounded up the best places for pancakes in Manchester and some alternative suggestions.

Whether you’re after a packed stack at Black Milk, a limited-edition special at The Pen & Pencil or you prefer your pancakes with crispy duck and hoi sin sauce at Wing’s, there’s something for you on our list of recommendations.
