Brimstone Hotel and Spa
The Brimstone Hotel and Spa is the ultra premium option at the already pretty posh Langdale Estate holiday complex. Built in 2016, its design reflects the natural surroundings with lots of wood, slate and stone, softened by candles, glowing fireplaces and plush furnishings. If hygge was a place, this would be it.
The rooms continue the layering of cosiness and luxury with features such as freestanding oval baths, emperor-size beds, log-burners and private balconies. In the spa, you’ll find a thermal suite which takes you from outdoor pool to Himalayan salt cave to herbal sauna to mineral steam room. Brimstone Hotel guests have spa access throughout their stay meaning you can offset the exertion of climbing the Langdale fells with the deep rest offered here.
For food, head to the estate’s Stove restaurant for dishes such as ragu of wild venison or char siu monkfish. Or wander through the woods to the nearby Wainwrights’ Inn for a more traditional Lakeland night out.
