Manchester United Foundation
Manchester United Foundation is an independent charity that supports young people in the local area. Football reaches people in ways other organisations can’t. The foundation uses the power of sport and the Manchester United legacy to help children and teenagers make the most of their potential.
Dedicated staff and even footballers themselves partner with local schools and community programmes to offer all sorts of development activities, from mentoring to inspirational PE lessons and from well-being sessions to first aid courses. It’s not just about what children learn, but about the boost to their self-esteem from being involved.
The Foundation encourages participation in sport for everyone, including developing girls’ football and increasing the opportunities for disabled people to join in with football.
The outcomes from the Manchester United Foundation’s work can literally be life-changing, helping young people to make good choices and to feel good about themselves.
The work couldn’t happen without money raised by season ticket holders and ticket sales from charity matches – they are also a great way for families to get involved with watching football together. The atmosphere is always welcoming and you know you’re part of doing something for the greater good.
