Manchester Tennis and Football Centre
The Aquatics Centre, the Etihad Stadium, the Velodrome . . . anyone who doubts the legacy of the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games only needs to look at the number of major sports facilities built for it. Manchester Tennis and Football Centre is yet another.
With six indoor and four outdoor, floodlit courts, it’s a good-sized facility, and you don’t need a membership. Just book your court online or on the Better app. It’s the same with their three 3g five-a-side football pitches.
They offer accessibly-priced tennis classes for adults and children, and hold tennis camps for youngsters in the school holidays. They also run tennis sessions for people who use wheelchairs, and people with disabilities.
