Amy-sha Mother of Hairdressing
Amy-sha Mother of Hairdressing is a laid-back, family-friendly, independent salon in the heart of Didsbury. It’s relaxed and welcoming but their cuts have a bit of an edge to them. Everyone will ask where you had it done. Other loyal clients will know at once where you had it done. Every cut is unique but there’s a signature cool confidence about each one.
Owner Amy-sha has a lot of experience in the industry including a long career with Toni & Guy where she trained a generation of young snippers. It’s not surprising that the whole team are up-to-date with the latest trends and colouring techniques.
The atmosphere is homely and down-to-earth rather than glam, and ethics are at the forefront with only the highest quality, low-toxic, vegan-friendly products. And obviously nothing that’s been tested on animals. There’s a lot of Kevin Murphy bits and bobs on the shelves as well as Oway Organics.
Amy-sha Mother of Hairdressing is open late four nights a week so cuts are convenient. It’s a great place to take children for their first haircuts with low prices for nippers (four to six years) and tots (three years and under). You can even book special longer appointments so children with sensory issues or wrigglers can come out looking dapper.
All prices are unisex which seems to be a rarity. They’re based on the length of the hair and the complexity of the cut rather than a standard cut-and-blow pricing structure. And however long your hair is, it’s good value; the quality of these cuts is hard to beat.
