Hafla Hafla

Middle Eastern

Pop-up turned permanent Hafla Hafla brings Middle-Eastern inspired kebabs and small plates to the trendy bohemian drag of Lark Lane.

Owner Tim Haggis got a buzz going about Hafla Hafla when it was a street food stall in the Baltic Market. The transition to proper restaurant has gone smoothly enough, with their famed salt and pepper halloumi fries just one of the dishes that are worth multiple visits.

Recommendations include the calamari with feta and chickpea salad, and the roast cauliflower with tahini, green chilli, pomegranate and spring onion. Kebab fans can choose from Persian roast chicken, house falafel, and kofta lamb, amongst other char-grilled fillings. Clay oven naans and pitta are stuffed with salad, sauce and slaw. You can turn your kebab into a salad bowl if you prefer to skip the bread.

At weekends, a brunch menu features rich, spicy slow-cooked shackos and The Full Hafla – a vegetarian Middle Eastern take on a Full English.

The plates here are bright and eye-catching and the decor is equally fresh. Think fun, relaxed, sit-down street food with cocktails an option too.
