Lunya
SpanishWorld-class Catalan deli and restaurant. This central wine and tapas bar is a wonderful place to hang out, with snacks and full-bodied meals on offer. Just don’t expect Spanish standards in a venue known for signature dishes like Catalan Scouse (morcilla and chorizo stew), or croquetas with oxtail and horseradish mousse.
Bring eight mates along for a suckling pig feast or simply order lots of little dishes to share. Cabrales and cider paté, served in pastry with roasted hazelnuts, and Gambas a la Plancha (sweet grilled king prawns in garlic and pimentón) are highlights of the small plates selection. Owned by local businessman (Peter Kinsella) who fell in love with Barcelona in 1999, it’s got labour of love written all over. Lunya has a sister restaurant on Manchester’s Deansgate, serving a similar menu, and a new Liverpool dockside venue too, Lunyalita.
