Prashad
Indian subcontinentPrashad is a Gordon Ramsey-rated thrill for anyone craving Gujarati vegetarian food. Since starring on Ramsey’s Best Restaurant show, the team have made the most of the exposure. Expansion, relocation and even a Sunday Times top 40 rated cookbook followed.
Prashad’s current home lives up to its accolades. Bathed in the dusky shades of the Indian subcontinent, it’s the ideal place to explore the Patel’s homemade chutneys, deep-fried coconut balls (pethis), and crispy house ‘chaat’. The house special is dosa, bound in fresh coconut and tamarind, and crafted from a delicate batter of rice and lentils.
The cooking is so lively that the kid’s meal, made from zero-chilli fritters, chole (chickpea curry), buttered rotli and rice, is a treat for grown-ups too.
Drink fruit juice, lassis or choose from a simple wine list.
