White Rose Manchester

Clothing

White Rose doesn’t describe itself as a vintage store but it certainly feels like one. It’s a charity shop that sells secondhand clothes but the range is a lot more selective and on-trend than you’d find in your average high street chazza. The store in the Arndale is one of 15 in the north which raise money for the Aegis Trust; a charity which works to prevent genocide.

In the Arndale White Rose, you’ll find a good mix of high street and designer names with lots of workwear, sportswear and YK2 fashion. It doesn’t look like a charity shop – many shoppers don’t realise it is until they look at the prices – and shopping there is a pleasant rather than chaotic experience.

It’s particularly good for gym wear and running clothes – we spotted a couple of Ron Hill tops and jackets when we visited, plus a good range of leggings, sports bras and shorts. Top Shop, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Paul Smith were represented and priced accordingly – a Paul Smith jacket was £50, while a Zara top was £4 in the sale. They also stock jewellery seconds from Marks and Spencer with big discounts on the original price.
