BeWILDerwood Cheshire

BeWILDerwood Cheshire is an adventure park for families. However, its woodland setting and the scale of the play equipment makes it so much more than a mere playground.

It’s based around a series of books by Tom Blofeld but you don’t need to be familiar with the stories to have a good time.

The best days at BeWILDerwood are ones filled with action. There are mazes to dash round – including one high up in the treetops, zip wires, climbing, den-building and huge slides (some of which are wide enough to slide down together a family). There are also miniature versions of balancing, scrambling and fresh-air fun for younger visitors.

When you need a bit of a rest, there are craft sessions, peaceful places to listen to an audiobook, character meet-and-greets for fans of the BeWILDerwood series and plenty of opportunity for imaginative play. With colourful mini houses and winding paths through the woods, it’s easy for children to invent their own stories and be the main character too.

You can take your own picnic or eat pizzas. The whole experience is open-air although the trees do offer some shelter from the elements.

BeWILDerwood works best for primary school-age children with plenty to entertain their younger siblings too – although be aware that you may need to split up because there are height restrictions for some of the more adventurous activities.

Look out for the dusk sessions which are particularly atmospheric.
