Pavilion Gardens Buxton
It’s the variety of attractions and things to do that make Pavilion Gardens Buxton special. This elegant Victorian park and pavilion has something for all seasons, which is lucky really considering Buxton is known for having a microclimate all of its own due to its high altitude.
When the sun is out Pavilion Gardens have a real holiday vibe with live music in the bandstand, ice cream and coffee trucks, and pedalos on the boating lake. For kids, there’s an extensive play area suited to big’uns and little’uns. You’ll often find a few money-sucking activities have pitched up there as well: trampolines, bouncy castles, bungee swings and the like. Meanwhile, the miniature railway will please the toddlers and pre-schoolers.
If the weather’s not so great, head indoors to the recently renovated pavilion where you’ll find a cafe-bar, local art and gifts, a conservatory garden, and an indoor play area for toddlers. Most weekends, there’ll be something happening in the neighbouring Octagon Hall: kids inflatables and collectors fairs are regulars on the calendar.
And if all that’s not enough, the gardens are right next door to a swimming pool, a cinema, and a theatre. Multiple visits may be needed.
