Lancaster On Ice
Lancaster On Ice is the big one when it comes to seasonal skating. This award-winning venue has had glowing reviews in a number of broadsheets, and now, the icing on the Christmas cake, it has the thumbs up from Confidential Guides too.
It’s in a lovely setting, in the historic Dalton Square in the centre of Lancaster and it’s a 800m² real ice rink. Soft neon gives the ice a bit of a Northern Lights glow in the dark and it’s equally good for families and groups of friends.
If you book for the 13, 20, 22 or 23 December 2025, make sure you also book in for breakfast with Santa. The man in red is dropping in to show off his double axel, eat a bacon butty, and do a few fist bumps before heading back to Lapland to start loading up his sleigh.
As well as the ice skating, there’s also a giant tipi serving hot drinks, boozy ones, and everyone’s festive favourite, a bit of both. There are also Christmas market stalls and a giant ferris wheel.
