PUBLIC
PUBLIC is from the team behind Evelyn’s and The Daisy so quality cocktails are a given. You’ll find all the favourites. Go for the old fashioned with a honey twist, a zombie, or a spicy marg, if that’s your thing.
There’s a brief menu of good-value Asian and American street food dishes. From juicy burgers with disco pickles and gochujang baby back ribs, to sandos and hot oil gun gun noodles, there’s a satisfying umami addictiveness to the offerings. It’s not refined, but who cares?
The casual food sets the tone for this place. It’s cool but not up-itself, just a great spot to hang out. The tables in the sun make it even better, and it’s happy hour when it rains. Surely cheap daiquiris are worth getting a soaking for?
It’s walk-ins only except for the weekend bottomless brunch which you have to book.
