Pattersons at Escape to Freight Island
Pattersons at Escape to Freight Island means only one thing – the Liverpool legend has finally made it to Manchester.
Patterson’s chicken is brined for 24 hours in a special mix of herbs and spices, dusted in a secret recipe flour and fried to perfection. It’s the ne plus ultra of the chicken shop.
Burgers, tenders, wings, massive buckets and sharing platters are all part of the deal here as well as loaded fries and hash browns.
The Freight Island Stacker – a man-sized burger with two pieces of fried chicken, crispy onions, Applewood cheese, lettuce, gherkins, Patt’s white gravy and honey sriracha – is a favourite. Add chilli cheese loaded fries and you won’t need to eat again for about a week.
It’s good-time food and it’s just right for the casual vibe at Freight Island. When chicken shops blow-up on Tik Tok and everyone drives from miles around to try it, you’ve got to wonder, why didn’t they just go here?
