Shrimp & Co
Shrimp & Co is riding the wave of messy seafood boil and platter places where gloves are de rigeur and messy chins are all part of the experience.
This small Northern chain, with its platters and seafood boils, has established itself as something you must try. It’s especially tailored to group dining.
Personally, I’m a fan of cutlery but if you love ripping and dipping, tearing those prawns out of their shells and fighting over lobster claws, Shrimp & Co brings the fun into eating out.
Everything is halal and there is no alcohol but plenty of mocktails. Popular platters allow diners to share chicken and seafood in various quantities.
The seafood boils are what it’s all about. They can be pricey and have a seriously unappetising name but are an absolute feast of the ocean. Go all out with lobster, prawn, octopus, mussels, calamari and crabs of all kinds, slathered in a rich sauce and served with sides like rice and chips.
Cheaper options featuring fewer varieties are available as well as burgers and pasta for the less adventurous diner.
