The White Horse in Churton
Thought it’s only been open a short while (since March 2023 to be exact), The White Horse in Churton is no rookie when it comes to good quality country pub food. It’s from Gary Usher’s Elite Bistros, the team behind the award-winning, crowd-sourced Sticky Walnut, amongst others.
The White Horse describes its menu as uncomplicated and unpretentious. You’ll find dishes such as stout rarebit with Appleby’s smoked Cheshire cheese; pork cutlet with curry, almond and raisin butter, sauerkraut and skinny fries; and char grill steaks with truffle and parmesan chips.
The food is a big draw but you can just pop in for a pint – it’s a pub after all. The countryside location makes it popular with walkers and cyclists.
