OWS Lake Burwain
OWS Burwain Lake offers open water swimming sessions on Thursday evenings in spring and summer. It’s a picturesque place in the Pendle countryside so you get the feel of wild swimming with the amenities that come with an organised event.
The club house has changing and shower facilities. Most importantly, this is wild swimming Lancashire-style so when you book your slot you can also book a pie and pea supper for afterwards, courtesy of renowned butchers and pie makers extraordinaire, Browns of Barnoldswick. What better way to warm up after an invigorating dip?
The sessions are run by Pendle Triathlon Club. You don’t have to be a member but you do have to register before booking your place. It’s a friendly group and there’s always an experienced coach on hand so this is a good choice if you’re interested in trying out wild swimming for the first time.
Entry to the lake is a little rocky so come prepared with suitable water shoes.
