The Resonance Centre
If you’re interested in exploring holistic therapies and alternative ways of treating stress, The Resonance Centre in Clayton is well worth knowing about.
It offers a whole range of activities and classes designed to help you find balance in your life, from yoga to journalling to drumming workshops.
Their Thursday night, sober “ecstatic rave” is very popular. Called Born Free, it’s a place where you can dance your heart out to uplifting tribal house and experience what it’s like to lose your inhibitions without the aid of alcohol or drugs.
They also host cacao circles, gong baths, sound healing sessions, singing workshops and so on. Vegan food is sometimes available at events.
The Resonance Centre is the creator of “Integrating Self”; Manchester City Council’s first fully holistic course for assisting with resilience after trauma. It’s also the home of the Manchester Wellness Collective, which works to ensure the credibility of holistic practices within mainstream healthcare. Membership is free to all fully qualified and insured holistic therapists and yoga teachers.
The centre is the brainchild of founder Juanita whose passion and drive brings the whole holistic project together.
Their Facebook page is the best place to find out what’s on. Prices vary according to the activity; they’re good-value and sometimes free.
