Cockfields Farm Park
Cockfields Farm Park, in the countryside between Oldham and Ashton-under-Lyne, is a young child’s idea of the perfect day out.
Most of the activities are outdoors so it’s definitely best reserved for good weather. However, there is an indoor role play area as well as go-karts and diggers if the rain does threaten to spoil your plans.
Depending on the time of year, Cockfields Farm Park allows children to meet pigs, ponies, sheep, cows, hens (and adorable chicks), or even bottle feed baby goats.
There are also pythons and corn snakes, llamas and alpacas, tortoises, geckos, millipedes and meerkats, plus petting sessions with bunny rabbits and guinea pigs.
Once all the animal attractions have been indulged in, there is also a fairground carousel, a play area, a beach area and a bouncing pillow. Picnics are allowed in designated areas (indoors and out) and there’s an onsite café.
Look out for special family events, from meeting CBeebies star Bluey to bingo to Christmas specials. Book ahead for these (or plan ahead to avoid them).
