Chaos Karts
Chaos Karts puts you in the driving seat of an immersive augmented reality experience, bringing real-life karting and gaming together.
The go-kart is real and so are the other players but the tracks, power-ups and arcade-style weapons are all virtual. It turns out that it’s super fun being a Super Mario-a-like.
If you’re familiar with old-school arcade games or modern-day gaming, you’ll know the schtick. The player with the most points at the end of a race wins. The player who wins the most races, wins the tournaments.
Rack up those points by collecting jewels (not real ones, sadly) and power-ups like bombs and hammers (also virtual) that you can use to get one up on your opponents.
Because your surroundings are just projections, you can race almost anywhere, from Daytona Beach to the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
A racing session lasts 20 minutes – and that’s pure track time. You can book a double session if you want longer. It’s for 11s and over only and all under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Chaos Karts is great for team-building but save the beers for afterwards or you won’t be allowed to race. Hair must be tied back and sensible shoes must be worn. You have been warned.
