You may know this venue best as Altrincham Ice Dome but it’s now run by Planet Ice and offers relaxed skating sessions as well as ice skating and ice hockey classes for children and adults. So if you’ve ever felt inspired by Dancing On Ice, now’s the time to don your skates and bust out a double salchow. Perhaps.
As well as ice skating, Planet Ice is home to Manchester Storm so you can get tickets to support your local ice hockey players. They’re a top-tier team who play in the Elite Ice Hockey League so there’s always a good atmosphere.
And if the razzle dazzle of sequins and figure skating appeals to you, the pantomimes-on-ice at Altrincham will certainly impress. 2025’s offering sees Dick Whittington take to the ice for a skating twist on the festive favourite. It’s almost guaranteed that Widow Twanky will fall over at least once.
