Pelican

Pelican is a bar from the team behind Squawk Brewing Company, they of the beautiful ornithological cans of craft ale. It’s situated in Grade II Listed building on Dale Street with tall handsome windows, but you’re here for the beer, right?

It’s good. There are 14 keg lines and four cask ales on offer, pouring both Squawk beers to wet your beak and guest beers too. From pils to imperial stout, you’ll find it all at Pelican. There’s even a Bloody Mary menu for when you need a pick-me-up.

It may be all about the beer, but Pelican is also family-friendly: dogs and children included. There’s plenty going on with geeky games sessions, DJs and open decks, quiz nights and, most importantly, pizza by the slice.

There’s a laidback atmosphere and lovely folks behind the bar, making Pelican somewhere we’ll be crossing the road to get to.
