10 Tib Lane
10 Tib Lane was one of the brave new openings of summer 2021; a time when securing staff and supplies, never mind diners, was an ongoing challenge for everyone. If you can launch a new restaurant in that environment, you must be doing something very right – so it’s no surprise that three years later, it’s still going strong.
Using local producer Cinderwood Market Garden keeps the supply line simple. Their organic produce is evident in many of the French-inspired small plates that make up the majority of the menu. This raw produce is transformed expertly into a series of well-balanced dishes that change with the seasons. The August 2024 menu for example ranges from an aubergine, courgette, pepper, and almond taramasalata with pangritata, to a whole seabream with spring greens and lemon butter.
Much thought has been put into the drinks list, which focuses on natural, low intervention wines and “cocktails without fuss”. It all unfolds over three floors of exposed concrete, hanging plants, and teal blue velvet seating. We could list the restaurants that have lived and died in this spot before now but we’d prefer to focus on the present. Hopefully 10 Tib Lane will inhabit 10 Tib Lane for years to come.
