Canteena Bar & Grill
Based in Sale Food Hall’s old spot in Stanley Square, Canteena Bar & Grill is a new, all-day restaurant specialising in steak and crowd-pleasing classics from around the globe.
Head there for breakfast such as buttermilk pancakes with berries or wild mushrooms on toast. Come lunch time, it offers a bar menu of small plates such as chilli hummus and flatbread, plus brunch style dishes; the fish finger sandwich is popular.
Larger plates on the evening menu include Lancashire cheese and onion pie, and truffle mushroom risotto, along with roasts and speciality grills throughout the week.
Specialising in steak, Canteena runs regular offers throughout the week including a 2-course lunch offer for £18.50. This runs from Tuesday to Wednesday between 12-9pm and Thursday to Friday between 12-6pm. On Sundays, customers can enjoy a Sunday roast sharing board for two for just £34.50 – add a bottle of house wine for £15.
There’s also weekend entertainment on offer, with live acoustic music on Fridays, and blues, jazz and rat pack tunes on Sunday. Or if you’re starting your weekend slightly earlier, head to their cheese and wine night on Thursdays.
