Gilpin Hotel & Lake House
Think of Gilpin Hotel & Lake House as a country house break with excellent spa facilities set in the stunning scenery of the Lake District. It’s a bit like a fine-dining, grown-ups’ version of Center Parcs with very swish lodges and hot tubs dotted around a picture perfect estate.
The two separate locations (just a few miles apart) operate as one with guests chauffeured to and fro, although the facilities are not all shared.
Gilpin Hotel boasts a Michelin-starred restaurant, SOURCE, as well as Gilpin Spice, a more relaxed (though still luxurious) Pan-Asian dining option, and a champagne bar and lounge.
The classic bedrooms and suites all have spot-on stylings but the lodges are the biggest draw. These exclusive sanctuaries are the ultimate escape with floor-to-ceiling windows taking in the Lakeland fells and private hot tubs.
The spa space is inspired by nature, bringing the wildness of the outdoors into the treatment rooms. It’s a couples spa (perfect for a romantic break) but if you prefer zen time to yourself, book into the Lake House Jetty Spa instead.
The Lake House is an incredibly private experience with just six bedrooms sharing a boat house, a spa treatment room, a swimming pool, saunas and hot tubs. That’s to say nothing of the private lake, woodland and viewpoint, all just for Lake House guests.
