The Dalton Street Salon
Three things we like about the Dalton Street Salon: the people, the prices and the cuts. It’s not easy to find a good, easy-access hairdressers and barbers in Manchester city centre that doesn’t charge over-the-odds, but this is one.
Situated just off Albert Square, it has a central location with opening hours that stretch to 7pm. You can usually get an appointment within a few days or, for men’s cuts and barbering, take your chances and just turn-up.
They specialise in cuts, balayage, colouring, perms, straightening and keratin treatments – and all those services are for men as well as women.
The barbering team are known for their hot towel shaves and wet shaves. They also offer threading for men and women.
Dalton Street Salon has a touch of glamour to it but you’re mainly here for the competence of the stylists and barbers who will listen to what you want and make it happen, without a lot of unnecessary fuss. It’s not got the edgy coolness of some of the city centre’s salons but it has a growing fanbase, and rightly so.
