Manchester Road Runners
Part running club, part social club, The Manchester Road Runners turns ten-years-old in 2023.
It began life as a few friends meeting up for a weekly jog before the power of social media (and the seemingly endless popularity of running in Manchester) helped it blossom into a fully-fledged club with over 120 runners turning up on some nights.
They meet on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm, upstairs at The Wharf pub in Castlefield, and do a range of routes each session, ranging from a 3k to a 10k. Then everyone convenes back at the pub for drinks and food.
The club is known for its fundraising and charity work, and its friendly vibe. As well as the Wednesday runs, they do a ParkRun every weekend, plus there are regular social nights.
It’s free and runners of all levels are welcome. No need to book, just turn up next Wednesday night.
