Fazenda Liverpool

Restaurant - South American

Fazenda loosely translates from Portuguese into “big farm”, but think a little more luxe than your average barn: dark nooks and plenty of wood, yes, but also coppery golds, muted brown leather and eye-catching black-and-white tiled floors in this elegant Exchange Flags setting.

Drawing inspiration from gaúcho cattle-herder traditions and South American rodízio restaurants, Fazenda takes steakhouse to the next level. For a fixed price, eat what you fancy from either the non-meat or the standard or halal menu, each promising the exquisite flavours of Argentina and Brazil. Alongside the finest grilled meats, there’s a sumptuous selection of sauces and sides, from Brazilian black bean stew to Argentinian chimichurri cheese, served directly at your table. Enjoy continuous service, using your double-sided card to control the flow of meats at your own pace. The green side signals the chefs (passadores) to bring out skewers of sizzling meats one by one, while the red side indicates a resting point. So, those meats. Served when they’re ready and in no particular order, there is succulent tenderloin, flavoursome ribeye and also sirloin, rich in texture and with a layer of fat for added melt-in-the-mouthness. On top of that, there’s the “butcher’s choice”, a special cut of meat handpicked by the executive chef. And where other steak restaurants have been known to dictate the way the meat is cooked, at Fazenda, you’re encouraged to let your servers know your preference, from rare through to well done – “we are happy to serve all our cuts to your taste”.

Desserts include a selection of Brazilian sweet treats – there are churros filled with Argentinian dulce de leche, and there’s even a warm dulce de leche cake. The cocktails include Brazil’s national cocktail caipirinha plus Pisco Punch, with Chilean maraschino cherry. On draught, there’s Brahma Brazilian lager and Chilean Nazca IPA and there’s a great range of wines from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.
