L’Enclume

L’Enclume is Simon Rogan’s three Michelin-starred restaurant located in the Lake District village of Cartmel, which is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading dining destinations. The restaurant is situated in a former 13th-century blacksmith’s workshop.

This restaurant holds a farm-to-table philosophy at its core, with a focus on the ingredients grown at Simon’s 12-acre farm in the Cartmel Valley, Our Farm. It is here where Simon and his team work throughout the year to grow vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers, whilst closely studying the seasons, soil and sunlight to ensure growing methods are never standing still.

Head chef Paul Burgalières oversees L’Enclume’s highly finessed menu, which focuses on locality above all and gives prominence to each and every ingredient.

The restaurant has a total of 16 bedrooms, which are spread around the historic village.

In 2022, L’Enclume celebrates it’s 20 year anniversary and is one of only eight restaurants in the UK and 135 restaurants worldwide to receive the coveted three Michelin star status. In October, L’Enclume retained its position at number one in The Good Food Guide and was named the UK’s most exciting restaurant for 2022.
