Worsley Woods
You can spend a pleasant few hours wandering through Worsley Woods, a 30-hectare woodland with well-marked trails, ponds, a children’s playground, and paths into the pretty village of Worsley.
The woods are full of wildflowers in spring before the canopy of leaves hides the sun from the woodland floor. It’s also a great place to catch some autumn colour and immerse yourself in the sound of birdsong. (It’s easy to forget that the M60 motorway is right next door). Families will appreciate the children’s play area – park near Beesley Green Community Centre on Greenleach Lane for the easiest access.
A trip here is ideal if you’re looking for a gentle stroll, perhaps combined with a trip to Worsley village with its picturesque canal and variety of cafes and restaurants.
