Namaste Nepal
Namaste Nepal on West Didsbury’s Burton Road is a relaxed Nepalese spot that is the definition of a much-loved neighbourhood restaurant.
It’s been part of the busy main strip for years and it never gets tired with smiling service and a crowd-pleasing menu that brings together Nepalese specialities and Indian favourites.
If you’re not familiar with the cuisine of Nepal (it’s something that’s becoming more and more popular) then the momos are unmissable. These little steamed dumplings are bundles of joy, especially when dipped into the traditional fiery chilli sauce.
Other Nepalese recommendations include KC fish, the chef’s signature spicy barbecued mackerel and chicken khorsani which will blow your mind in more ways than one. It’s an ideal partner for an ice cold Nepalese beer.
This independent restaurant has been deservedly popular for the best part of a decade. It’s casual enough for a low-key weeknight visit but the high quality of the dishes means it’s still the place to take visiting friends and family. Namaste Nepal is the local’s local.
