Masons

Restaurant - Modern British

Nestled in the Grade II Listed former Freemasons Hall, Masons Restaurant and Bar serves retro fine-dining fare in princely surrounds.

Layers of mahogany, pistachio and forest green velvet create a chic hotel vibe – with a clientele to match.

The menu sounds simple (you’ll see classics such as sausages and mash, chicken and leek pie, and slow roasted pork belly) but their interpretations of these British favourites are a level above. Desserts are equally creative in their execution. Expect indulgent seasonal options such as a glazed vanilla custard with winter berries and lemon curd, and ginger-spiced cake roulade with pear caramel, hazelnuts and vanilla.

Masons is somewhere to push the boat out (in a sophisticated way, of course).

Fittingly, fine wines abound and, when it comes to cocktail time, the excellent staff will make you anything you like. Or ask Manchester’s only gin trolley to visit your table for bespoke blends all around. A retro-tastic delight.
