Foodie Friday Stockport
Foodie Friday is Stockport’s food and drink festival, taking place between 6-9pm on the final Friday of each month.
Vendors are usually local independent traders, serving up a range of cuisines catering for all dietary requirements and tastes. Held in Stockport’s Market Square, the event is dog-friendly and free to attend. There’s also entertainment throughout including live music from local artists.
The Stockport-based event won an award at last year’s Manchester Food & Drink Festival Awards, dubbing it ‘Pop Up Project of the Year’, where festival organisers, John and Rosemary Barratt were presented with the Howard & Ruth Outstanding Achievement Award.
Some stalls are situated inside the historic market hall building, but most vendors will be set up outside – bear this in mind in case the heavens open in typically Mancunian fashion. That being said, don’t let a bit of rain stop you from enjoying some of the best street food this side of the Pennines.
